Catherine A. Tibbitts is a professional pianist and composer with a degree in Piano Performance from BYU in Provo, Utah, where she received the music department’s “Most Outstanding Musician” award her senior year. She has worked as a pianist and composer/arranger for The Saddleback College Music Department, The Mission Viejo High School Choral Department, The Laguna Playhouse, Opera Pacific, OCAVA in Rome, Italy, The Singers Company, stake choirs from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The United Methodist Church Choir in Anaheim, and noted soloists, including David Archuleta, Kevin Odekirk, and John Huntington. In 2005 she was the musical director for The Newport Beach Temple Youth Celebration, held at the Honda Center arena in Anaheim, involving over 4,000 youth, and in 2017 her original symphonic work "The Boy Who Laughed At Santa Claus" was performed by the University of California at Irvine's Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, 2017 and 2018, some of her choral compositions/arrangements were among the winners of the LDS Church Music Submission Contest. Several of her choral works are published by Jackman Music. Catherine recently retired after 10 years as the full-time Staff Accompanist at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California.
